| The Country |
| It is impossible to find another country to match the beauty and variety of holiday locations that Italy has to offer. No other European destination can equal the romance of Venice, the emerald seas of the Amalfi Coast or the spellbinding rolling Tuscany countryside. Picturesque fishing villages cling to the hillside of rugged coastlines and further south lie miles of sandy golden beaches. |
| The Culture |
| Cities such as Rome and Florence provide a wealth of world-class art and architecture. Florence has the world’s largest collection of Renaissance art with paintings and sculpture masterpieces by Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and Botticelli. |

| The Food and Wine |
| Tuscany and Umbria and their stunning hillsides of vineyards and olive groves are a gourmand’s dream: a perfect excuse for our guests to return year after year! Italy’s food and wine is regional. In the north, food is hearty, full of flavour and coated with lashings of olive oil. It is accompanied by some of Italy’s finest wines such as Chianti Classico and Brunello di Montalcino. The southern coastal diet is rich in fresh fish and cheeses such as mozzarella di buffola. Dry white wines are produced on vineyards over looking the sea. |

| The Italians |
| The Italians have a strong sense of style and their flair is reflected in the decor of the Italian Retreats properties we offer to our guests. They are a kind nation of hosts, fiercely proud of their country, but willing to share it with the millions of visitors that arrive in Italy each year from all over the world. |
