Description

La Terrazza is a romantic hide-away for the energetic wishing to visit Florence at any time of year. Standards of decor are excellent throughout and the apartment is furnished with stylish, reproduction antique furniture. La Terrazza can be located in a 13th century Florentine palazzo situated in a narrow street almost opposite the entrance to the famous Pitti Palace. It is on the top floor of the building, with approximately 73 steps. The flat has its own private rooftop terrace with captivating views of Florence rooftops. The terrace is spacious and not overlooked. It is the perfect place to sunbathe or dine al fresco, listening to Florence’s church bells chiming.

Position
Situated in the fashionable Oltrarno of Florence, a two-minute walk from Piazza Santo Spirito and a five-minute walk from the city’s famous Old Bridge. From here it is a further 5-minute walk to the cathedral. Our flat is just steps away from one of Florence’s most important buildings, Pitti Palace with its museums and beautiful Boboli Gardens. The palace was for centuries home to the Medici family, a powerful reign of rulers of the city who invested much of their immense wealth into the Renaissance Art movement. There is a grocery shop on the ground floor of the flat’s building and greengrocers opposite. There are a number of excellent restaurants and sophisticated wine bars within a few minutes walk from the apartment.

Exterior
We were especially impressed by the size and views from our flat’s terrace. It is furnished with wrought iron tables and chairs for four persons and a sun umbrella offers shade during hotter months. Guests to the flat can admire breathtaking views of Pitti Palace, the square of Santo Spirito and the fortress of Belvedere. The terrace is lit at nighttime. It is estimated that Florence has only 320 roof terraces and many offer just simple standing space.
