| Il Nido has been charmingly restored into a perfect romantic hideaway for two. One arrives at Il Nido along a sweeping drive way with well-maintained landscaped gardens either side. On the edge of the estate stands this delightful stone barn, positioned 50 metres away from the main farmhouse where the two English speaking adult owners live. The setting is idyllic as the edge of the estate looks out over rolling hills of olive groves and vineyards. The same beautiful views can be enjoyed from all the windows of the barn. In our opinion, Il Nido is a perfect honeymoon location without being too far off the beaten track. |

| Position |
| The Il Nido estate is situated in the heart of Chianti surrounded by 37 hectares of unspoilt countryside. The nearest hamlets are Montegrossi, Montegonzi and La Forra, which have one or two restaurants. The famous abbey of Coltibuono (1.5km) is one of the region’s most historically important buildings. You may visit the abbey and have lunch or dinner in the stylish Michelin Guide restaurant next door. In the summer month’s special evenings of jazz and classical music take place in the restaurant’s garden. Other places of interest include the medieval hilltop town of Radda (8km) and Gaiole (9km), two of the Chianti area’s prettiest towns. Florence and Siena are both easily reached in under an hour. |

| The barn’s carefully designed interior has been split onto two levels. Ground floor: stone steps lead to a spacious living/dining room with an open fire and a modern fitted kitchen. A few steps lead to the double bedroom, which can be made up as a twin on request. En-suite shower room. |

| Very peaceful and spacious grounds overlooking the surrounding valley, a large swimming pool (7 by 14 metres). The pool is shared with the owners and is furnished with sun-loungers. Private terrace for al fresco dining in summer months. This terrace is not over looked in any way. |
